WEEK 37

How does the baby grow?

The date of birth is very close, but doctors do not consider the baby to be “full-term” until the 39th week. Being in the womb in the next two weeks allows the baby’s brain and lungs to fully mature. Therefore, if moms have planned a caesarean section, the doctor will not set the date of birth before the 39th week unless there is any reason for early medical intervention.

Your date of birth is very close and your baby is ready to be born.

The baby weighs about 2.8kg and is about 48cm long from head to heel. Many babies are born with a full head of hair, long curls. However, there are also babies who have only a few fluffs.

Changes occurring in the mother’s body during the 37th week of pregnancy

Braxton Hicks contractions may come more often, longer and more uncomfortable. Moms may also notice an increase in vaginal discharge. If moms notice bloody mucus in the toilet or underwear, labor will probably come in a few days (or faster). If moms have large blood spots or bleeding, call the doctor right away.

More than ever now is the time for moms to be hard to sleep well at night. If possible, take advantage of sleeping during the day – this may be the last chance for moms to enjoy it by a long time coming moms will be very busy when the baby is born.

At this time, moms also have to monitor the baby’s movements, and immediately tell the doctor if moms notice a decrease in the baby’s activity. Although the space inside the uterus is already quite cramped, the baby should be as active as before.

When sleeping, moms may have intense dreams. The anxiety about labor and becoming a mother can cause a lot of unconscious fantasies.
