The Triplets Are So Similar That Parents Have To Color Their Toenails To Distinguish Them

We often wonder how parents of twins or triplets manage to distinguish their children in the first few months, to the point where they look alike.

This Welsh couple found the solution! In order not to be confused among their three adorable little Gɪʀʟs, Karen and Ian Gilbert opted for nail polish! The couple chose a color code: each of their babies has their own signature color on their two-inch-long feet. The name of the color is combined with the first letter of the name. So it’s fuchsia for Ffion, mint green for Maddison and purple for Paige.

“It’s not fashion, it’s really because it’s hard for us to tell them apart,” said the 33-year-old mother. She added that the trick “makes their lives easier,” especially knowing “who’s been fed, changed, washed.” A good idea in your opinion?

The triplets were ᴄᴏɴᴄᴇɪᴠᴇᴅ naturally, without the aid of ꜰᴇʀᴛɪʟɪᴛʏ ᴛʀᴇᴀᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ, and came from the same ᴇɢɢ. It’s a rare event that only occurs once in every 160,000 people in Great Britain.

The Gilbert triplets were born two months early by an ᴇᴍᴇʀɢᴇɴᴄʏ ᴄᴀᴇsᴀʀᴇᴀɴ sᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ. When they were born, Ffion weighed 3lbs 8oz, Maddison weighed 3lbs 5oz, and Paige weighed just 3lbs 4oz, but they are doing very well today, and are a delight to their parents. “It’s been a frenetic but fun year,” they said.

The family from Pontypool, South Wales, had to provide more than 120 diapers and 84 bottles of formula a week for the young children. But the couple has the opportunity to earn a little extra money thanks to their children elsewhere. TV producers used triplets to play the same baby on screen because their ɪᴅᴇɴᴛɪᴄᴀʟ looks meant they could be rotated during filming – to avoid an overly tired baby.

Parents are great role models because they organize their days so well to look after their three one-year-olds as best they can. “Getting out is like an operation we call triplets,” they confided humorously. The couple can’t go out on a whim, “We need to plan 24 hours in advance. It’s like packing for a vacation. ”

Among other things, Karen and Ian, of course, had to buy a three-seater stroller, but also a larger, seven-seater. Their neighborhood supermarket even specially equipped them with a stroller with three baby seats. That’s great among them!

But the most important thing is that Ffion, Maddison and Paige are so adorable. “They have brought us so much joy – three times as much,” confided the happy mother. And we wish they felt it for years to come!
