A grandma who was warned she was ɪɴFᴇʀᴛɪʟᴇ was sʜᴏᴄᴋᴇᴅ when doctors revealed that her ‘ᴄʏsᴛ’ was actually a baby. After sᴜFFᴇʀɪɴɢ with ᴘᴀɪɴFᴜʟ sᴛᴏᴍᴀᴄʜ problems for months and being ᴅɪᴀɢɴᴏsᴇᴅ with I.B.S, Alison Dent was given the ʙɪᴢᴀʀʀᴇ ᴅɪᴀɢɴᴏsɪs.
Despite the fact that Alison – who already had a daughter – had been told by doctors that she was ɪɴFᴇʀᴛɪʟᴇ, and had not had a ᴘᴇʀɪᴏᴅ for 26 YEARS, her dreams of having another child finally came true. Proud mum Alison gave birth to Kylie when she was just 19, and she settled down with her partner Robert four months later.
A year later, the family was sʜᴀᴋᴇɴ when Alison woke up ʙʟᴇᴇᴅɪɴɢ. She went to doctors where ᴛᴇsᴛs ʀᴇᴠᴇᴀʟᴇᴅ sʜᴇ ʜᴀᴅ ᴀʙɴᴏʀᴍᴀʟ ᴄᴇʟʟs ᴏɴ ʜᴇʀ ᴄᴇʀᴠɪx. In a ʀᴏᴜᴛɪɴᴇ ᴏᴘᴇʀᴀᴛɪᴏɴ, ᴅᴏᴄᴛᴏʀs ʀᴇᴍᴏᴠᴇᴅ ᴘᴀʀᴛ ᴏF ᴛʜᴇ ᴄᴇʀᴠɪx and Alison was left “ɪɴFᴇʀᴛɪʟᴇ” and without a ᴘᴇʀɪᴏᴅ for 26 years. More than two decades later, Alison was “overjoyed” to discover that Kylie, then 24, was pregnant.
She remembered: “I went to the doctors and two months after Kylie’s pregnancy announcement, in March 2013, I was ᴅɪᴀɢɴᴏsᴇᴅ with I.B.S. My ʙᴇʟʟʏ ᴄᴏɴᴛɪɴᴜᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ ʙʟᴏᴀᴛ ᴀɴᴅ ᴍʏ ᴀɴᴋʟᴇs sᴡᴇʟʟᴇᴅ and my ʙʀᴇᴀsᴛs ɢʀᴇᴡ sᴏʀᴇ too.”
She said: “Even as I cradled Caseylee in my arms, I couldn’t help but worry. My ʙᴇʟʟʏ was still really sᴡᴏʟʟᴇɴ and I had no idea what was wrong with me.” Three months later, Alison was rushed to hospital with ᴀʙᴅᴏᴍɪɴᴀʟ ᴘᴀɪɴs ᴀɴᴅ ɢɪᴠᴇɴ ᴀ sᴄᴀɴ . Alison was sʜᴏᴄᴋᴇᴅ when the doctor announced: “It’s not a ᴄʏsᴛ… it’s a baby.”
The nurse confirmed that Alison was definitely pregnant, revealing that she was actually due to give birth in just EIGHT WEEKS.
Alison said: “I was 32 weeks pregnant and I’d had no idea. I didn’t have a ᴅᴇᴀᴅʟʏ ᴄʏsᴛ or even I.B.S – my sᴡᴏʟʟᴇɴ sᴛᴏᴍᴀᴄh was an Incredible Baby Surprise!”
Six months after Alison became a grandma, she gave birth to her adorable baby boy, Bobby. The ᴇᴄsᴛᴀᴛɪᴄ mum remembered: “After everything I’d been through, I’d become a gran and a mum in the space of a few months. Now, I’ve never been happier. I thought I was ᴅʏɪɴɢ – instead, I got this little cutie!”
