Awe-Inspiring Photos Show The Moment a Girl Of 12 Helps Deliver Her Baby Brother… And Her Face Says It All

THIS is the incredible moment a 12-year-old girl helped deliver her baby brother. The awe-inspiring snaps show young Jacee Dellapena, from Brandon, Mississippi, decked out in blue scrubs with a mixture of terror and jubilation on her face as she assists the doctor during the birth.

The brave youngster then bursts into tears of joy as she lifts her newborn brother Cayson Carraway up into the air for her mum to see. The emotional snaps were shared to Facebook by her proud parents Zack and Dede Carraway, who said she was “the most amazing doctor”. They were then shared by family friend Nikki Smith, a singer-songwriter, and quickly went viral, evoking more than 185,000 reactions.

Jacee was encouraged by Dr Wolf to help out with the birth on Wednesday after she started crying because she wanted a better view as she was “too short” to see. Her mum Dede explained: “He said, ‘Why don’t you just let her suit up and deliver the baby?’ And I said ‘What? No!'” Although it wasn’t part of Dede’s original birth plan, she went with it – despite being in agony as the epidural “wasn’t working”. Dr Wolf guided Jacee’s hands throughout the whole birth, helping her do everything, including cutting the umbilical cord.

The 12-year-old told MSNewsNow: “I actually, like delivered him, like, he let me actually push down and pull the baby out. “I was like, wow, like I’ve played fake doctor before, but this is, like, the real thing, this is is the real deal. “I was nervous that I was gonna mess up or tear her or something, but it was the best moment of my life.” Dede, who was discharged from hospital yesterday, added: “Seeing the emotions on her face, it made me cry. I’m about to cry now! It was just a good moment for me.” Cayson was born weighing 7lb 6oz, with dad Zack capturing the special moment on camera.

Jacee had plans to be a vet, but Dede reckons this experience may push her towards thinking about a career as an OBGYN (obstetrician and gynaecologist). Facebook users dubbed the photos “amazing” and “beautiful”. One wrote: “Learning about the incredible gift of precious life so young will prepare her to be a confident, strong adult. This is great!!!! And a lucky little sibling to have such a capable and loving big sister.”
