A mother, Sarah Dines, recently gave birth to her son Montague, who is now 11 months old and weighs 11 pounds 8 ounces. Despite his young age, Montague is already as big as a typical three-month-old baby. Sarah jokingly commented that her son looked “ridiculous” because his newborn clothes were too small for him.
Sarah, a 35-year-old teacher, initially planned for a natural water birth at her home in Broadstone, Dorset, without any pain relief. However, due to the size of her baby, she eventually had to undergo a C-section.
When Montague was born, he was so big that everyone in the delivery room burst into laughter. Even the doctor remarked that he looked ready for school already. The tiny towel they wrapped him in couldn’t even fit around his large frame. None of the clothes Sarah had bought for Montague fit him when he was born.
As Montague grew older, his size continued to surpass his age. Currently, at almost one year old, he wears clothing designed for children aged two to three. Even the cap given to him at the hospital was too small, and Sarah’s sister had to rush out to buy diapers that would fit him.
Despite multiple tests, none of Sarah’s doctors can explain why Montague was born so big. Both Sarah and her husband Elliot, who are of above-average height themselves, were tested for gestational diabetes several times, but the results were never positive. Sarah believes that they will never have a small baby because of their own heights, and she jokingly concludes that she will likely have big babies in the future as well.
