Unexpected Birth: Woman Gives Birth in Car During Ride to Birth Center

Babies sometimes come exactly when and how they want to come.

A woman was planned a waterbirth at the birth center where she worked…but when she was laboring at home, her darling baby decided to come fast and furious.

They drove into the birth center to deliver the placenta, which came out only a few minutes after arrival.

Along with shock, there was a lot of laughter. Our pregnancies and births can teach us so much about letting go.

Births outside of a hospital, birth center, or a planned homebirth with an accompanying midwife are uncommon, although they do occur. “Born before arrival” refers to these births.
