Each parent finds it difficult to care for a single infant, so imagine the difficulty of caring for four infants simultaneously.  Chris and Katie Sturm gave birth to quadruplets on July 3, 2021.They already have a 3-year-old, so they want to try to have a daughter, but they already have four children.  She was informed at the age of 16 that she could not become impregnated using her own ova. She was despondent for several days following the news. She feared she wouldn’t be able to carry the pregnancy to term, but ultimately she was successful.

Austin, Daniel, Jacob, and Hudson were delivered via caesarean section on July 3, at 32 weeks gestation, when she was 32 weeks pregnant. The brothers spent varying amounts of time in the neonatal intensive care unit of the hospital. According to the couple, Austin and Jacob arrived home first, followed by Daniel one week later and Hudson two weeks later.

Katie stated that she received a substantial amount of assistance along the way.  Three months after the delivery of their children, she and her husband are adjusting to life with multiples with the help of a team of relatives, physicians, and caregivers. Her grandmother organized a socially distant drive-through baby celebration, and she, Katie’s mother, and Katie’s mother-in-law were present to provide care before the children were born.

The couple has enlisted in a formula-assistance program for multiple births, and their clinicians frequently provide formula samples. The family is also attempting to provide ample attention to their first child, who has just begun toilet training. Ryan reportedly treated the infants with kindness and care, but he is eager for them to grow older so he can play with them.

Katie became pregnant approximately two months after giving birth to her quadruplets. With four infants, it is difficult to remain rested, as sleep deprivation can increase the likelihood of sus. Katie awakens the other infants, so that they all adhere to the same schedule, if more than one is awake during the night. In addition, the couple has hired a nighttime nurse on a part-time basis.
