Parents Welcome Second Set Of Twin Girls – Born On Same Date As Their Twin Sisters ʙᴇᴀᴛᴇɴ ᴏᴅᴅs To Be A 4.5 Million
Born on January 25 eight years apart Erin, Leah, Charlotte and Isabelle Sullivan have ʙᴇᴀᴛᴇɴ ᴏᴅᴅs higher than winning the lottery. The phenomenon is thought to be a 4.5 million to one chance for parents Zoe, 38, and Ben Sullivan, 42.
The Lossiemouth couple had to induce pregnancy ten weeks early for their second set of twins, Leah and Erin, resulting in them sharing their older sisters’ birthday. Celebrating their birthday on January 25, was ‘ᴍᴀɴɪᴄ’ according to the proud mum-of-nine.
Zoe said: ‘Our family isn’t one in a million, it’s one in thirty million.
We had a big day for them all and did more on the weekend. Now all our kids want babies on their birthdays.’
Dad Ben, an RAF engineer, said the four-person birthday takes planning and admits to buying only cupcakes for the sets of twins. Born premature the two youngest twins were separated at birth to go to different hospitals: Leah in Inverness and Erin in Aberdeen. The parents live an hour away from both places, in a house provided for them by the services. Zoe admits she gets mistaken as a ‘child minder’ but that has not put the couple off and the 38-year-old mum is already pregnant again.
Zoe told the Scottish Mail: ‘They weren’t jealous at all about sharing their birthday. They were just over the moon. They went about telling everybody. ‘And then the other children were like “Can we have a baby on our birthday?” But I don’t think I will be able to do that again, that was a complete fluke.’
The chances of twins is one in 50 but the actual odds of twins born on the same day to the same couple is actually one in 4,562,500.
