There is no shortage of choices when it comes to maternity images, but in the end, they all essentially look the same: a Pʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ wOᴍᴀɴ caressing her expanding belly with a knowing look in her eye (sometimes dressed, often not). However, there are instances when a photographer and his subject go a little bit further and get a little bit wetter.
Although Beyoncé just published her maternity images, which include a few underwater shots, we have seen underwater maternity photos before, but nothing could have prepared us for the beauty and craftsmanship of Adam Opris’s portraits. The photographer from Palm Beach, Florida, informed us:
“Being in the water has always come easy to me because I was raised in South Florida ᴄʟᴏsᴇ to the seaside. As my wedding photography business developed, I always cherished the fact that the brides I had photographed afterward came to me for their maternity photos.
When I came across underwater images from around the world, I understood that I could take clients into this underwater environment because I am constantly striving to push the boundaries of photography. I came to see that there are countless possibilities underwater after a few test shoots.”
