Mik recounted the morning before she left for work when she randomly decided to take a pregnancy test. Little did she know the rollercoaster journey that awaited her.
After visiting an obstetrician-gynecologist, Mik discovered that she was not only pregnant but pregnant with twins. She vividly remembered the moment she learned the news, saying, “I became pregnant at seven weeks, and he advised me to seek an abortion and to cease talking to him.” Feeling devastated and alone, Mik moved back home with her mother, concealing her pregnancy from the public eye.
The prospect of being a single mother to two young daughters weighed heavily on Mik, leaving her feeling extremely unhappy. The situation was further complicated when her obstetrician diagnosed her with pre-eclampsia at 34 weeks pregnant, resulting in her hospitalization. As she began experiencing contractions and heart failure, an ambulance was called, with a three-hour journey separating her from the hospital.
Fortunately, Mik and her twins, Violet and Scout, managed to navigate this incredibly challenging situation. Due to their premature birth, the twins spent three weeks in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Today, they are both happy and healthy, thanks to their resilient and loving mother.
Mik reflected on her journey, stating, “I had two wonderful small daughters who were my greatest friends, and I realized I could do this.” With the unwavering support of her family and friends, Mik found the strength within herself to persevere and create a beautiful life for her children. She expressed gratitude for her wish list coming true.
