The heartwarming and miraculous story of Maxine and Jake Young from Pennsylvania has captivated the world. This loving couple, who had always dreamed of having a large family filled with both adopted and biological children, has recently become parents to an incredible nine children after welcoming quadruplets. Maxine and Jake’s story began when they decided to adopt four siblings in December 2019. Already parents to their biological son Henry, they embraced the idea of expanding their family with adopted children. A month later, they completed the set with the addition of a newborn baby girl, forming a loving family of seven.
However, Maxine and Jake’s journey had its share of challenges. Before welcoming Henry into their lives in October 2018, they experienced multiple miscarriages, chemical pregnancies, and underwent rounds of IVF and IUI treatments. Just a year after Henry’s birth, the couple officially adopted the four siblings they had been fostering. The transition from zero to five children in less than a year was both chaotic and rewarding. Within weeks of finalizing the adoption, Maxine discovered she was pregnant once again, and this time, it was without the need for fertility treatments. The news of the pregnancy came as a delightful 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐤 to both Maxine and Jake, who thought they could only conceive with medical assistance.
To their astonishment, they soon learned that they weren’t expecting just one more baby, but four! Maxine gave birth to the quadruplets on July 31, at 32 weeks of pregnancy. The quadruplets were named Silas Ledger, Theo Alexander, Beck Killian, and Cecilia Hudson, and they arrived into the world between 8 a.m. and 8:02 a.m., weighing between three and four pounds each.
Though some of the babies are currently in the NICU, two of them were able to go home this week. Jake and Maxine express that this journey has been an incredible rollercoaster, but the overwhelming love and joy of meeting their babies for the first time have made it all worthwhile.
“Fortunately, they all did a great job, and we are really grateful,” added Maxine.
