“Astonishing Moment: Mother Gives Birth in Hospital Corridor, Leaving Everyone in Shock!” (video) LS

Every mother has her own special birth story. No matter how the baby was born – vaginal birth, cesarean section, home birth, etc., giving birth is always a miracle and extremely memorable. But the way that baby Maxwell Alexander (Manhattan, Kansas, USA) was born as soon as his parents arrived at the hospital’s emergency room door is no different from an extraordinary story that is making waves on the web.

This story took place a long time ago but the images of it have only just been revealed. Jes Hogan, a mother of 5, gave birth to her sixth child in July 2017. Although there was nothing special during her pregnancy, the moment of giving birth to Jes was completely different. And the photos that capture those moments can only be described in two words, wonderful.

Photographer Tammy Karin with Jes’ consent shared the photos on Facebook so “everyone can see the beauty of childbirth even when things don’t go as planned.”

Jes recalls that she still goes to the hospital for regular checkups and thinks she knows when to go back to the hospital: “This is my sixth child, after all. I should know those things, right?”. Jes went to the hospital when she had contractions all night but then went home because it wasn’t time to give birth yet. She recounted that after finally experiencing a violent contraction that lasted in the middle of the night, she knew it was time. Jes said to her husband, “Travis, I think it’s time.” And rightfully so.

The couple immediately rushed to the hospital and fortunately it was 3 am so the road was very clear. “As we neared the final turn to the hospital, I started screaming that the baby was coming out,” Jes said nervously. My husband honked the horn repeatedly while I was still screaming through the contractions.” The couple ran through the corridors of the hospital and stopped right in front of the emergency room door when the moment came. Photographer Karin also happened to be present at the time and she kept shouting for nurses and doctors to help Jes.

Jes said: “I knew the feeling then: ‘Oh my god, I’m getting out of here.’ So I started taking my pants off because I could feel my body pushing the baby’s head away.” The nurse who arrived first took Maxwell’s head and removed the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck. Baby Maxwell was born on the floor in front of the emergency room door at 3:38 a.m., less than five minutes from when Jes’ water broke at home.

Baby Maxwell was born weighing nearly 3 kg, 50.8 cm long and completely healthy. Jes shared: “Our son. The last child. Our only boy. Also the fastest birth. That moment is still too unbelievable for me. It was a strange birth. It didn’t turn out the way I had planned, but ended without a hitch with a healthy baby and amazing supporters by my side. It was beautiful and I will forever love every second of that memory.”

The series of photos capturing the moments of this miraculous birth story has received more than 11,000 likes, nearly 9,000 shares and many comments on the social networking site Facebook after only 3 days of being posted.
