A newborn baby was abandoned in the Chattisgarh province of India, but luckily, a group of puppies came to her rescue by keeping her warm throughout the night.
The child, who has been named Akanksha, was left alone without any clothing and still had her umbilical cord attached. Reports indicate that a stray dog found the baby and cuddled up to her with its puppies, providing warmth and comfort in the cold field. The act of the dog and her puppies is believed to have contributed to the newborn’s survival. The timing was fortunate, as the temperature drops during the night, particularly in December.
The abandoned baby was discovered unharmed when residents heard her crying and found her nestled among the litter of puppies. The local government body, known as the panchayat, was informed and they contacted the police. After being examined by doctors at a nearby hospital, the baby has been referred to the Child Line Project for further care and support. Police are currently searching for the baby’s parents, who are responsible for abandoning her.
